Ever year we do alternative seasonal celebrations on the blog and give voice to the artists that captivated us in the last twelve months. There will be no surprise here if we say that 2022 belonged to London based duo Glytsh. Claire Genoud (Hella Sin) and Jennifer Diehl (Luna Blake) kicked down some serious doors and made enough noise to find themselves on national radio and in the papers. We are catching up with Hella Sin to find about the highlights of the passing year, their festive habits, Christmas music and what they would like to receive as part of Secret Santa.

We won’t be off the mark if we call 2022 the year of Glytsh. Did you have any goals you wanted to achieve?
Hella Sin: Beginning is always the hard bit! It’s very stressful to start releasing music with a new project but we’re very happy we did it!
What was the best moment of the year for you? Any highlights that are worth mentioning?
Hella Sin: Being played on Radio 1 by Alyx Holcombe was amazing! Probably the best feeling was seeing our music reach new people and the right kind of people we want to reach.
No year is perfect. Where there are nadirs or disappointments in 2022? Maybe some things you`d differently now?
Hella Sin: I am the most impatient person ever and I always want things to happen faster but realistically, I’m happy with what we have achieved so far and most importantly, I love the music we have released and I know it can only get better the more we do it!
How do Hella and Luna celebrate New Year: do you prefer big parties or quiet home gatherings, kitchen discos or mosh pits?
Hella Sin: I would say I’m usually the party girl of the band, although I like spending NYE with my family in Switzerland. As we both have families abroad, we usually leave London for a bit, when the action is the quietest.
If anyone would like to include Glytsh in their Secret Santa, what are the perfect gifts for the band? They say diamonds are girl`s best friends but so is a thirty-date tour with Nine Inch Nails, right? What would you like to see under your Christmas tree?
Hella Sin: The fundraiser money was an amazing Christmas gig from our fans! It’s a great feeling knowing we’ll be able to comfortably release more music next year. We are both very grateful for it! Otherwise yes, give us amazing opening tours!
Let`s settle things once and for all: which carol/Christmas song is the banger. There`s got to be more to life than All I want for Christmas is You. What goes on top of your festive playlist?
Hella Sin: I hate Christmas music with a passion so… can’t tell (laughs)
We know what to leave for Santa, but what food and drinks should be on the Glytsh rider when you finally go on tour next year?
Hella Sin: I am vegan and Jen is vegetarian, but we eat the same (vegan) food like 99% of the time. Pink Gin tonic has to be on the rider for sure!
You can follow Glytsh on the socials. Following them will be a good idea as they are just warming up.:
